Terms of Use

1. Introduction

The AwareDB website, API and related services (the "Platform") are operated by Djina / Leopard Labs Limited, a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 16413875), registered office London Fora, 1 Lyric Square, London W6 0NB ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account or using the Platform and the services available through it (our "Services"), you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. We may amend these terms by publishing a new version on this page; please check back, as continued use means you accept the current terms.

2. Eligibility

AwareDB is a tool for organizations and professionals. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you use AwareDB on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for it.

3. The service

AwareDB is a computational model graph: you model a system as nodes, relations and formulas, and the engine computes it — unit-aware, with states and a reversible history. The Services are available over a REST API and a Python SDK, and the engine is self-hostable by arrangement.

4. Access and availability

We use reasonable efforts to keep the Platform available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. There may be interruptions for maintenance, upgrades or matters beyond our control, and we may change the Platform's features and functionality from time to time.

5. Account security

Keep your credentials confidential and your account details accurate, and do not share access. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. We may disable your account if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms.

6. Acceptable use

You must use the Platform lawfully. You must not:

• use it unlawfully, fraudulently, or to infringe others' rights;
• access data that isn't yours, or attempt to break the per-organization isolation;
• reverse-engineer, copy or replicate the engine, or build a competing service from it;
• circumvent usage, rate or security limits;
• disrupt or overload the Platform, or introduce malicious code. Attacks such as denial-of-service are an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and we will report them.

7. Your content

You own the models and data you create. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, store and process them to provide the Services to you. You are responsible for your content and for having the right to use any data you put into the service, and for your decisions made using it.

8. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the AwareDB engine, software and documentation are owned by or licensed to Djina / Leopard Labs Limited. Using the Services grants you no rights in them beyond using the Services as intended. Any feedback you give us may be used without restriction.

9. Reliance on results

The Platform and Services are provided "as is" and "as available". Computed results depend on the models and inputs you provide; we make no warranty as to their accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. The Services are not legal, financial or other professional advice — verify results before relying on them for important decisions.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• indirect or consequential losses;
• loss of profits, data, business or reputation;
• loss arising from your models, your inputs, or your use of computed results.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or put the service at risk; where the breach can be put right, we may give you a reasonable chance to do so. You can stop using the Services and close your account at any time. On closure we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. General

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, and will tell you if we do; you may not transfer yours without our consent. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. No delay in enforcing these terms is a waiver of them.

13. Complaints and governing law

If you are unhappy, please contact us first at support@awaredb.io. These terms are governed by English law, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, save that we may seek an injunction in any competent jurisdiction. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you may have where you live.
